Message from Bruce Mitchell...

Over the past years that I’ve worked with Corporate Chaplains Canada, I’ve had the opportunity of sharing the vision with a number of you.  At present, we are very close to signing contracts with a couple of Calgary companies and may be looking for more staff.  While these two companies are looking for male chaplains, we may have a need for a female chaplain in the near future as well.

Since our inception in August 2004, four of our CCC chaplains have been trained Counsellors; I believe this ministry is a perfect fit for Professional Christian Counsellors as:

1. Most Christian Counsellors have a flexible work schedule and many have a few hours in the week open for other meaningful work opportunities as they have something less than a full work load of scheduled clients.
2. While CCC does not provide professional counselling services to company employees, our life coaching model employs many of the same skills noted in effective counselling; the ability to quickly build a therapeutic alliance, active listening, a non judgmental approach to others and excellent questioning technique to name a few. 
3. Professional counselors have training and experience with the common life journey challenges employees face such as marital breakdown, grief, suicidal ideation, addictions and stress.
4. Christian Counsellors live by a high ethical standard and display a deep love and respect for others; they enjoy and find satisfaction in supporting ‘fellow travelers’ through life’s challenges.
